Hero’s Journey for Healers and Lightworkers

Listening to the call

“Once a future hero has been called in and agreed to accept the quest, a helper / mentor appears. First, a mentor is challenged to teach a skill set to the hero in the hope that he can overcome the challenges ahead. Second, the mentor helps the hero define the mission, at least to the extent that it is known. Next, the mentor helps the hero understand how he should grow and evolve. [and heal] if the search is successful and helps the hero accept doubt and fear. “-Susan Pesznecker

Is being a healer part of your life purpose? And if so, where on the hero’s journey through the healers?

The hero’s journey for healers

If you are familiar with Joseph Campbell, author of The hero with a thousand facesYou’ve probably already heard of the hero’s journey. It starts with listening to a call and answering it. This call begins a quest and journey that has several challenges to overcome, but provides help along the way. It ends with victory and coming home to yourself in a deeper way than ever.

I think the story of the journey is different for each person, but there are general steps you can look forward to as you begin your own quest as a healer and light worker.

Step one: Hear the call to be a healer and respond to it. Make a decision and commit to doing whatever it takes to live your purpose. Starting the search that will change your own life and allow you to help others to do the same.

Second step: Seeking guidance and wisdom as you begin the search to discover more about your purpose and what it will require of you. Who, how and what are you supposed to heal? What is the best way to serve?

Step three: Healing and solving past or current life challenges that have been blocking you, preventing you from being clear about your purpose and living it fully. The healing process may take time, but it is really the first step on the road to total freedom to live as a healer. For this part of the search, you become your first customer.

Step four: Creating the vision and plan that will empower you to transform your life into one that tells the story you were destined to tell, playing the role written just for you as we all work together to heal the planet.

Step five: Create a daily practice that keeps your vision alive and brings you closer and closer to the goal of being exactly who you came to be and doing exactly what you came here to do. Coming home to yourself in a way that clarifies and supports your deep awareness of who you are and what you are supposed to do.

Now that you’ve read those steps, do you recognize a bit of your own journey? Where are you in that search?
