LABEL TYPES
Thermal Economy:
This range of paper is coated with a thermal coating that turns black when subjected to a heat source. This range of materials is used for short-term information labeling where contamination is minimal. It is ideally used in in-store point of sale labeling, scales, logistics, address labeling, and box end descriptions.
Thermal top coating:
This range of materials has a protective coating to protect the image area of the heat sensitive coating from contamination of fats, greases, solvents and plasticizers from packaging films that may come into contact during storage or transport. This range of paper material is commonly used in freezing environments for prepackaged foods, eg meats and cheeses. This product is used in supermarkets on fresh and frozen products and is used for industrial barcodes.
Semi bright:
Medium gloss, woodfree machine coated paper with good whiteness. Semi-gloss labels are a universal type of paper used in thermal transfer printing and multi-color printing, where fine print details are required. They are also used for promotional applications.
Vellum:
A smooth, machine-finished, wood-free white paper. Parchment labels are used for general purpose applications such as barcodes and general information labeling.
Polypropylene:
It is a glossy white or clear coated film used for rigid and durable applications. Polypropylene labels have a waterproof material that is used to label cosmetics, toiletries, and is used in promotional labeling. A special thermal transfer ribbon is required to print on this type of material that Label Metrics can supply.
ADHESIVES
Permanent adhesive:
This adhesive is the most common adhesive on the self-adhesive label market. It is a permanent adhesive that when applied with pressure does not come off the application. Ideally used when product information is important and has a 12 month shelf life (subject to normal conditions) that should be cool and dry in most application environments.
Removable:
This adhesive allows an easy detachment of the applied products. A removable adhesive is commonly used in promotional price marking where the printed information label should peel off the product easily. Freeza:
