DIY Day Spa

There’s nothing like the pampering you can get from a good day at the spa. From the fluffy towels, relaxing atmosphere, and pampering at the hands of expert therapists, they’re a great way to de-stress and relax.

However, there’s nothing stopping you from recreating some of that feeling at home when time, finances, or family commitments keep you from indulging. Here is our step by step guide.

First, make sure you go to the bathroom at a time when you won’t be interrupted. If you live alone it will be easier. But if you have a partner or kids, make sure they’re busy somewhere else for a while so you’re not interrupted. You only need an hour (although if you can take more, why not!)

First set the scene. The candles create a magnificent atmosphere. Try some relaxing music (keep electrical appliances away from the bathtub or other water, though). And don’t forget plenty of fluffy towels. Now might be the time to bring out those special thick towels you were saving for a special occasion, well this is it!

Prepare the bath and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil: try lavender or geranium, or whatever makes you feel good. Or add some soothing bath salts, making sure they’re completely dissolved before going inside.

Clean your face and remove your makeup. Then apply a facial mask for your skin type.

Soak in the warm bath (make sure it’s warm, not hot. Water that’s too hot can dry out and irritate the skin). Place a cold washcloth for the face, folded over the eyes, or try cotton pads soaked in cold chamomile tea or even damp chamomile. tea bags.

Relax and breathe. Remember that this is your moment and only for a while will the world manage just fine without you. For now, your job is just to relax.

After you’ve had time to relax, take a washcloth and some phosphorescent salt and rub it all over your body. If you have very sensitive skin, you can substitute our exfoliating grains here. Although developed for the face, they can be used everywhere. The water will have softened your skin, making the exfoliating action even more effective.

Get out of the bathroom and dry yourself. Apply a moisturizing lotion or body butter all over. Do not forget to remove the mask with warm water, dry and also moisturize your face.

Wrap yourself in a soft robe. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea and put your feet up for 20 minutes.

You’ll feel great, revitalized and ready for anything!
