Five Steps to Creating a Goal Medal Life – Part I

The Olympics come and go. As always, it is
an exciting event with its dramatic twists and turns,
joys, surprises and disappointments like these great
athletes performed at their peak in front of millions, if not
billions of fans for the glory of representing their country
and possibly receive a gold medal.

You too can experience the same emotion in your life.
What are you doing now to achieve your “goal” medal?
What are you doing to achieve your goals in life?

You don’t need to be a world-class athlete to achieve
success in life. However, you can use many of the same
techniques these athletes use to achieve their goals.

The following are five tips to help you stand on the
platform of the winner in life:

1. Create passion with goal setting
Take the time to write down goals that excite you. To ask
yourself the following questions:

* How will I feel when I achieve these goals?

* What prevents me from achieving these goals today?

* What are the times and dates I want to achieve these?
goals?

* What resources do I need to achieve these goals?

* What is my plan B, or side route, to achieve these
goals?

2. Believe in greatness
Once you’ve created your goals, take the time to visualize
His achievements. World-class athletes envision the
victory before it happens. Take it 15 to 30 minutes just before.
do you go to bed or wake up in the morning and do the
following:

* Find a quiet place.

* Calm your mind, slowing down your breathing.

* Visualize that you are already achieving whatever goal you want
I want to achieve. How does it look? As it does
feel?

World-class athletes prepare yesterday, today,
and tomorrow for success through intense training and
sacrifice. What are you doing to prepare for your
success? Do a self-analysis to see how prepared you are
are today in relation to their objectives and what resources
and skills you need to acquire to achieve your goals. That
sacrifices you are willing to make in order to achieve
your goals? If it’s a promotion, find out what skills,
education, and resources are required to obtain that position.
If it’s a six-figure income, what sacrifices are you willing to make?
do to realize? Less television, more education?

I always say, “If you want something strong enough, act like
you’ve got it. ”That’s what champions do.
they already believe they will win a championship, a title, a
gold medal. They have a positive and hopeful attitude
and set the bar for others to try to vacuum.

I love tennis. One of my favorite tennis players is Roger.
Federer, the number one player in the world. When looking
he plays, I can see that he owns the court. In its tranquility, but
confidently, he tells his opponent, “I am # 1, I am
the best! “Then he goes out and wins. With his positive
attitude, expect to win every time.

How can this principle be applied? Well an example is if
you are a manager and you want to be promoted to vice
president, act like a vice president today. That means
dress like a vice president, make decisions like a vice president
president, leading people like a vice president, etc. Too
what it means is delegating certain tasks so that you can
learn the skills required of a vice president (read Delegate for
Accelerate Success). Do you hope to be successful in any
project you are involved with?

3. Create a group of masterminds
There is a saying, “A wise person learns from his own
mistakes, a wiser person learns from other people
mistakes. “That is what a group of experts will do for you.
Winning athletes have an intellectual group to
they make fewer mistakes and take less time to achieve their goals.
A group of masterminds is a variety of people dedicated to
give you the best advice, comments, training, etc., so that
you can achieve your goals faster. The group of the mastermind too
it gives you encouragement when you need it. In sports, this
It can be a coach, a coach, a physical trainer, a manager and
agent. In your situation at work, it could be the following:

* A mentor who has intensive corporate knowledge and can
maneuvering around “corporate land mines”

* A human resources specialist with in-depth knowledge of
skills needed for a promotion

* A manager who wants to show his skills to impress
your manager

* If you are thinking about or have already started a business,
it could be the following:

* Lawyer (s)

* Counter

* Expert fee

* Business partner in non-competitive field

* Retired executive

* Association leaders

* Customers

Note: Be very careful about who you allow into your
group of masterminds. Ask yourself: “Who can help me achieve
my goals through skills, knowledge and honest feedback? ”
Honest feedback is the key. You don’t want people to say “yes”
Around you; Do you want people to test you positive?
feedback that will put you back on track to success.

4. Accept the challenges
World-class athletes accept all challenges as a way to
to go to the next level. They have a “bring it up”
attitude and you can see it in their eyes. They realize that the
the focus is on them and they enjoy it. They are bold in their
actions and are not afraid of making mistakes. If they make a
they are wrong or have a defeat, they “own” them. What i mean by
“admit your mistakes” is that they say, “I did the
mistakes today “, or” I didn’t play to my full potential today. ”
By appropriating their mistakes, they appropriate
for their actions. By taking ownership of your shares,
take responsibility for improving your performance. They take
time to learn from any setback.

What challenges await you at work? How can you
improve your community by taking a leadership role? That
Are challenges waiting for you at home? Face them, hug them
learn from them and grow with them.

5. Never give up!
H. Ross Perot, the billionaire businessman and pass
The presidential candidate said the following:

“Most people give up just when they are about to achieve
success, they give up in the last minute of the game, one
foot of a winning touchdown. “

How many times have we seen people overcome
insurmountable odds to succeed? In sports, 2003-04
Detroit Pistons won the NBA championship against the
mighty Los Angeles Lakers. The underdog Villanova
The college basketball team won the NCAA College
Basketball Championship against the mighty Georgetown
University.

There is the story of Gaston Gaudio. Many of you may be
asking, “Who is Gaston Gaudio?” Well he’s 25 years old
tennis player from Argentina who turned professional in 1996. During
this time he had, at best, what would be called mediocre
results. Going into February of this year, he had a loss

championship match. I was going to face one of the hottest
Argentine tennis players and compatriots in Guillermo Coria, the
# 3 ranked player in the world. Let’s say Gaston wasn’t

himself against Guillermo, and leave everything. Gol Gaston

He persevered and would not give up.

obstacle that can get in the way of your success? Take a
take a good look at your goals and say, as Gastón did: “I believe in
myself and my goals. They are worth my efforts. Do not
No matter what the naysayers say, no matter what obstacles they put up
