Healthy fast food options to eat on the go

Most of us have a busy life and many times we realize when it is time to eat or when hunger strikes. Some fitness “experts” would have you believe that the only way to eat healthy is to carry a cooler with you. I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of other things going on to put THAT preparation for healthy eating.

Fortunately, there are healthy fast food options to eat on the go.

For example, Taco Bell has Fresco items on its “Diet Menu to Go.” Whatever you do, DO NOT eat any of their Taco Salads thinking they are a healthy option! They are loaded with fat and calories.

Burger King has the “Tendergrill” chicken sandwich which is a good option as long as you get it WITHOUT mayonnaise (you must order it that way because if you don’t do it they will automatically add mayonnaise … and they do it generously which is BAD for your waistline ) Burger Kings “Tendergrill” Garden Salad with Fat-Free Ranch Dressing is also a healthy option.

McDonald’s salads are also a healthy fast food option to eat on the go. If you get one with chicken, be sure to go grilled over crispy and use a limited amount of low-fat dressing.

The Perfect Fruit n Yogurt (7 oz) can also be had as a breakfast option at McDonalds. That is the only thing I would recommend when it comes to breakfast. I do not recommend anything on their breakfast menu.

Sit-down type restaurants also have many healthy food options. Be careful when ordering because many times grease is added to items that you would not suspect.

You can go to almost any fast food restaurant website and view the nutrition information for all of your foods and beverages.

You don’t need to carry a cooler to eat healthier, you just need to be armed with the knowledge of the healthy fast food options available.
