Horse riding in Bournemouth on your hen party

Horseback riding is a wonderfully relaxing way to spend the day at your bachelorette party. Getting outside in the beautiful British countryside is a perfect way to spend time with your friends, and horseback riding makes the experience of being in the countryside simply magical. A bachelorette weekend is a time to celebrate your last weekend of freedom with your closest friends and most girls are looking for a daytime activity that is memorable. If sitting in a spa all day would leave you and your friends restless, but you’re not quite ready for the whirlwind of an adventurous activity, then horseback riding offers the perfect balance between the two. If you’re thinking of seeing the countryside on horseback on your hen weekend, the UK has plenty of beautiful destinations to make it worth your while. A very popular location for horse hen weekends is the beautiful Dorset countryside as it has the lush greenery during the day and the party town of Bournemouth to keep you entertained at night.

Why ride a horse?

Whether you’ve never ridden a horse before or are an experienced rider who likes a gallop or two, a horseback hen weekend is a fun and exhilarating way to spend time with your friends. Beginners are welcome as most places will have instructors who can advise and help those who have never been around a horse before. After being briefed on safety and handling these beautiful animals, you and your friends will hike through the countryside, either through open fields or a forest trail, enjoying the sights and sounds of the stunning scenery. It’s perfect if you’ve planned a big night out as the country air will leave you feeling fresh and lively, although be prepared to feel a bit sore in the morning if you’re not used to riding!

Why Bournemouth?

Bournemouth, located on the south coast of England in Dorset, used to be famous as a retreat location. It was quiet, beautiful and with 6 miles of beach, in the summer it can sometimes feel like being abroad. The atmosphere changed a bit particularly with the change of Bournemouth Municipal College into a Polytechnic and finally a university in 1992. This brought with it an influx of students looking to study as well as have fun at night. Bournemouth soon had to cater to a new fun-loving crowd and has since gone from strength to strength building a reputation as a great stag and hen party venue. Despite its fantastic nightlife, Bournemouth has retained its seaside town charm, making it a perfect weekend getaway, especially for hen parties. Spend your days lazing on the beach or shopping and then call it a night!

Bournemouth nightlife

Bournemouth has many students and young professionals and their demands for evening entertainment are well catered for by venues in the city. There are a few nightclubs and bars on the waterfront, but most of the nightlife action is a bit further inland, closer to the city center. Most of the young crowds looking for a night of partying spots start their night on Holdenhurst Road, where there are many popular student bars like Inferno and Heat bar. As you stroll through the city, Old Christchurch Road also has some top-tier party spots including Bar Fruit, DNA and the well-known Walkabout chain. Gervais Place in the city center offers a bevy of bars and nightclubs including the popular Consortium and Alcatraz Wine Bar. One thing is for sure, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to where to spend your bachelorette party!
