When I was a small city kid, my expectations were wild; Though tangible, conceivable, and all-powerful, when I lay down at night to dream, in my dreams I entertained many possibilities, granting me numerous life options to meet or exceed my goals and aspirations.
When I was young, I dared to dream, to allow myself to believe that what my mind could conceive; I could achieve, I could achieve anything with desire, concentration and intention; I believed that I could weave opportunities that went far beyond my humble circumstances.
As an adult my expectations and dreams remained untamed, wild with the desire for movement and adventure, I fulfilled my wish and traveled, on too many planes, and drove many, many miles, many times calling where I put my boots at home. All trips; It almost led me to untangle myself. As I listened to the critical whispers and murmurs of family and friends, which flooded my ears; until I realized they were only talking about their own fears. I listened, without responding, and lovingly let them speak their minds while I remained calm and unaffected.
We have called many places home, from apartments to townhouses, even taking ownership of our homes; as entrepreneurs we travel with ease. From coast to coast; State to state; I called them all at home; Texas; Florida; Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Oregon, knew that an international move, to a foreign location, was imminent, albeit with the goal of returning full circle to Florida; my favorite state.
We finally moved to a kingdom; I knew we would, even though the day came earlier than I expected. Finally I would know what it meant to be immersed, in the confusion of being true, with my own customs, ideology and identity. I was born in a big country, with many states, and then suddenly I was immersed in a totally foreign way of life. I was an American, living an expanded life, in a beautiful old kingdom; complete with ancient castles, grand palaces, cobbled streets that were over 400 years old, and the most beautiful people you can imagine on earth. The best part is that what made them so beautiful was that they knew their full story and stayed true to their own identity and self-worth.
I learned a lot while teaching; employed as a teacher, which was also one of my dreams; I also kept alive my dream of moving back to live in the US Eventually returning to my favorite state: FLORIDA!
Another adventure added to my list; I am back in the states with an expanded, privileged and founded bliss, for having the opportunity, that is given to me, to live indescribable dreams living and learning about diversity, while immersed in a different culture and enjoying a new life in abroad, on another continent, on the opposite side of the Atlantic Ocean,
We are all nomads who came to settle in our present country from different regions and continents, and we have learned through the tried and true art of communication and unbridled discovery how to live productively. Enjoy your life, discover something new about yourself every day! The journey was often exhausting, but I would pull myself together again and again to see what new adventure life was teaching me next. Everyone is so blessed and lucky; Enjoy the ride of your life …
