However, they still tend to be priced above $6,000, while their own costs are less than three hundred dollars. And it is a fact that a homemade model is more effective. I have yet to find an off-the-shelf kit that can be tuned and tailored to maximize mpg for different makes and models.
More than seven million people around the world already make virtually free gasoline with do-it-yourself water fuel kits. And that just happened in the last two years. They tend to be in America and Europe, where an estimated hundred million people will have installed HHO units by the end of 2010. When they catch on in Asia, the numbers are likely to be staggering.

The first thing that is needed for a successful installation of an HHO cell is a complete and detailed instruction guide. It’s possible to achieve a working model without one, but after trying it out, most people would say it’s not worth the time and effort gathering scraps of information from the internet. Buoyed by the initial success, most continue to reuse their manuals and build fuel and water kits for friends and family. Guides are easy to download from the web, usually priced under $100.
For around $35, a control unit can be purchased at most electrical retailers, or made at home for just a few dollars. It is important that it be able to maintain a constant current of 13 amps to optimize the efficiency of the unit. It is connected to the car or truck battery, ignition system and water fuel generator. It also grounds the entire water fuel system.
The generator is a reservoir, held in a cradle under the hood, containing an electrode. It is partially filled with tap water. When ignition is initiated, electricity passes through the H2O. Hydrogen bubbles out of the cathode and the anode emits oxygen. The gases then gather on the surface of the water and combine to produce HHO.
That goes through a bubbler that prevents moisture from reaching the engine. From there it goes to the carburetor and is combined with gasoline or diesel drawn from the gas tank. The two burn together, completely safely.
