The island of Pag is the fifth largest island in the Adriatic Sea, but also the Adriatic island with the most rugged coastline. The island of Pag is sparsely covered with vegetation and is located in an area where a strong northerly wind usually blows. The rare vegetation is highly aromatic, which contributes to the quality of the cheese produced on the island. ZrÄ e beach is the most famous beach in this part of Croatia, where there are numerous restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities and where the summer fun and nightlife never ends. Pag is also known for its salt production.
