Toshiba AC100 Android Netbook – Specifications and Features

Interested in Android devices? If you have a netbook in mind, then there is one for you to consider. It’s the Toshiba AC100.

The AC 100 is Toshiba’s first Android mini-notebook. The netbook is somehow known as a mobile internet device. Described as a laptop that “combines smartphone functionality with netbook usability,” the AC100 seems to have plenty of features to please PC users. Let’s see what the Toshiba AC100 has in store for the public.

For starters, this decent-seeming device has a 10.1-inch TruBrite backlit display with a 1024x600p resolution. It comes with a combined Android platform and a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor that makes internet browsing faster. The mini laptop has 512MB RAM and 8GB NAND flash storage. Measuring 262x190x14-21mm and just 14mm at its thinnest point and weighing just 870 grams, making it an extra slim and portable laptop.

As for the other specifications, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n are included for connectivity, USB 2.0 port, mini-USB port, 1.3 MP webcam, microphone, memory card slot SD/MMC, audio jacks and HDMI ports. It also got a full-size keyboard that allows users to type comfortably and easily while interacting with their loved ones.

But what stands out in this Android-based netbook is the battery life. The AC100 promises a battery life of 8 hours of operation and up to seven days of standby time. It comes pre-installed with a couple of software like Documents To Go which allows editing and viewing of MS Office files, POP3, Exchange and IMAP support, IM aggregation client, Opera mobile and Tosh media player for your music addiction and the videos. Last but not least, consumers can choose to add an integrated 3G module to the device.
