With so many games to choose from on Blackberry these days, it’s very easy to miss some of the lesser-known hidden gems. To help you clear the clutter, I’ve compiled this list of some of the best Blackberry games you’ve never heard of.

1. Super KO Boxing 2 – This is a cartoon based boxing game that is very reminiscent of Punchout! by Nintendo. This game features an odd cast of characters that you must defeat as you work your way up the rankings. The reason why I selected this game is because it is easy to pick up and play, has sharp and colorful graphics, fun animations, and responsive controls. The game is controlled entirely by the keyboard, which may sound strange at first, but it really works for this app.

2. Nintaii – I’ve played a lot of puzzle games over the years and this is by far one of the most unique. The goal is simple, you are trying to roll your rectangular block into a square hole. There are 100 levels and the graphics are almost photorealistic, which is a nice touch. This is by far one of my favorite Blackberry games for its accessibility and gradual learning curve.

3. GT Drift: Untouchable – A solid racing game that reminds me of the pseudo 3D racing games on the Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo. The graphics are a bit choppy when playing on Pearl, but not enough to detract from the overall experience. Control is tight, which is a must for a racing game, and the graphics are sharp and colourful. This isn’t the deepest runner, but it has strong pick-up-and-play appeal.

4. Zen Table Tennis: Ping pong has never been so much fun on the go. I got this game because it was pretty cheap and I had low expectations, but I was really surprised at how good it was. You control a semi-transparent ping pong paddle as you try to win each match. You have the option to control it with the keyboard or the trackball with the trackball being the most intuitive in my experience.
