us and tv

How often do we watch TV or a movie at the cinema or read a book while eating? We used to consider food as a background for our other occupations. Sitting in front of the TV screen we have a snack being quite full. It usually happens between 8 and 11 at night. Known situation? Isn’t it a pleasure to watch the show or movie you like along with tasty snacks? And all this after a normal dinner just a few hours later! In this way we receive more calories than we really need.

Every day watching television we have a higher risk of obesity. It is interesting, but the melodrama and chills whet the highest appetite. On the other hand, travel and nature television broadcasts are considered low-calorie.

As for the commercials… By the time the commercial begins we feel an irresistible desire to go to the kitchen and prepare another serving of sandwiches (popcorn, chips, chocolate, drinks, etc.) to continue watching. You do not agree? In fact, we are not hungry, but we eat a snack out of habit.

The most dangerous time from this point of view is between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. At that time we already watched a movie and found another interesting broadcast on another channel. Our tired brains become more vulnerable to any fleeting impulses of ‘false hunger’. Also, we try to chase away sleep. To do this, we must do something, for example, eat a snack. When we eat sweets, we raise the rate of sugar in the blood. That shakes us and doesn’t let us sleep.

Try to look at yourself. How often do you have a snack watching TV at night? You sit up late in front of the TV screen to watch the program you like. But in reality you are already tired and want to sleep. To drive away sleep you chew on something all the time. Now do you understand what is happening?

Try changing your day regimen a bit. Try not to watch TV late and go to bed before midnight. This way you defend yourself from the impulses of ‘false hunger’. In the morning you will feel much better. Your morning hours become more productive for you. You will get to do much more in these hours.

Sometimes we eat for psychological reasons. Food can also take us away from them like a television. But the food is not the best and a short-term method. If you suffer from depression or loneliness these problems remain unresolved because of it. In addition, it adds one more problem: the problem of excess weight.

Be healthy,

Natalie
