One of the most popular and must-have items for the traveling salesman is the Pico projector. This handheld device allows you to project presentations from a portable multimedia device. This technology was put into production in 2009, however the concept was introduced in 2003. Typically these projectors will come with an LED light source and use a technology known as LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon) to produce a projection of microscreen. These portable projectors generally come with enough storage capacity to handle media such as film or presentation materials.

These devices consist of four main parts, the electronics, a laser light source, the combined optics, and the scanning mirrors. Basically, the electronic components convert the images into an electronic signal. The signal then drives the laser lights to produce different colors and intensities down different paths. In combiner optics, the different light paths are combined into a single path, demonstrating a color palette. The mirrors then copy the image pixel by pixel and then project the image.

The biggest complaint with these projectors is the audio and image quality. Some of these devices don’t come with built-in audio speakers, which means you would need to bring external speakers and the screen works best when in a low-light area with a projection screen.
