Less than a week after launch, Xbox 360 owners began to complain about various problems with their new Xbox 360, mainly about heating and scratching of the disc. What appeared to be isolated cases several days ago now appear to be more frequent.
An Xbox Today reader who claims to be an Xbox LIVE support worker believes that nearly half of Xbox 360’s are bankrupt.

Regardless of whether or not the source works for technical support, there are still a growing number of Xbox 360 owners concerned with broken Xbox 360s.

Last time, Microsoft launched too late. Sony sold more than 20 million units when Microsoft sold its first 1.5 million. This time, Microsoft has the upper hand. The Nintendo Revolution and PS3 are expected to launch in 2006, at least 6 months after the launch of the Xbox 360. However, with apparent shortages and growing complaints, MS’s huge advantage may have less of an impact than previously thought.
As the next few months unfold, it will be interesting to see if MS can overcome concerns with glitches, as well as obvious shortages ahead of the Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Revolution releases. Either way, 2006 is shaping up to be a great time for gamers.
