How to Take a Screenshot on a PC: An Internet Marketer’s Guide

If you’ve been an internet marketer for a while, you’ll eventually want to create some tutorials to help promote your website. As you start to write the instructions and read through them, you may find it difficult to properly explain things using just text. Then you’ll find yourself wondering “How do I take a screenshot on my PC?”

Well, the fact is that there are many ways to accomplish this task. But, you may also want to consider taking a screenshot of just part of your PC screen. This will greatly help you in creating valuable forum posts, blog posts, email tutorials, PDF eBooks, etc.

So how do you take a screenshot on a PC? There are several tools to accomplish this. One thing to consider is if you only want to take screenshots of web pages or your desktop.

Let’s see how to do both…

How to take a screenshot on a PC of your desktop:

Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. one could say [PrtScn].

Open an image-editing program, such as Microsoft Paint.

Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste, or just right-click and choose Paste.

If you are prompted to enlarge the image, choose Yes.

Optional: Use your image editor’s crop tool to crop out unnecessary parts of the screenshot.

Go to the File menu and select Save As.

Go to the folder where you want to save your image.

Type a file name for your image.

Select a file type, such as gif or jpg.

And finally click on the Save button.

Advice: Generally, the GIF format works best when saving screenshots of application windows. The JPEG format generally makes screenshots (especially those with text) blurry, smudged, and washed out.

And there you have it; you just took a screenshot of anything on your screen!

How to take a screenshot on a PC using a browser plugin:

Depending on the browser you use, there are many plugins that you can access for free. Here is a short list of the most popular browsers that I have found useful.

Google Chrome: “Stunning screenshot”

To get this, just click on the small key in the upper right corner of the browser, then select “Tools” and then “Extensions”. You will then see a search field on the left, just search for “Awesome Screenshot” and install it.

Firefox:

You can also get this addon for Firefox! To get it, click on the orange Firefox tab in the upper left corner of the browser. Then click on “Plugins” and you will see a search field in the upper right corner. Again, just search for “Awesome Screenshot” and install it in the browser.
