Top 10 Things to Try at an Indian Restaurant

Personally, I love all Indian food. The spices, the flavor, everything about it. If it were up to me, I’d be eating Indian food every day. Of course, at that point I’d probably get fed up and write an article on how to avoid Indian food. But for now, I enjoy it. Here is my list of the 10 best foods that to have to try if you ever go to an Indian restaurant. The list is in order from my most favorite to my somewhat favorite. Rest assured, all the things on this list are great!

  1. Chicken Tikka Masala: boneless chicken pieces, baked in a tandoor oven, after marinating them with spices and yoghurt. I usually get this extra hot extra, and it’s good enough to clear my nose, throat, and eyes. Eat it with rice and you will have one of the best meals you have ever tasted.
  2. Tandoori Chicken – This is chicken that is grilled and flavored with masala and spices. When I was little, I called him the “red chicken”. It gets its distinctive color from the turmeric it is cooked with.
  3. Shrimp Tikka Masala: Same as #1. #1, except for their shrimp. This is ideal for seafood lovers. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried spiced yoghurt baked shrimp with a side of rice. I recommend getting the super spicy version for this one too.
  4. Chicken Vindaloo – Chicken curry with potatoes. This is a delicious treat and is usually reasonably priced at most restaurants. It tastes great, and definitely fills you up.
  5. Chicken Biryani – This is chicken mixed with fried basmati rice. You get the meat and rice in one meal, and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. Add some chutney for a spicy flavor!
  6. Beef Curry – whole Indian curry. The beef curry is one of his best adventures. The curry is thick and delicious, and the meat is usually nice and tender. Rice is definitive with this meal.
  7. Chivo Rezala – Goat cooked with an onion-based sauce. It sounds delicious, and it is. A sweet and sour delight.
  8. Lamb Rezala – Same as #7 except with lamb. You’ll enjoy the yogurt, onion, and raisin flavor, and you’ll be glad you bought this one.
  9. Lamb Biryani – Fried rice with lamb. Need I say more?
  10. Lamb Korma – Braised lamb in a sauce based on yogurt, walnuts and raisins. It will make you wonder how you ever lived without it for so long!

Be sure to order a beer with your Indian meal (I recommend KingFisher), and get ready for one of the best meals of your life!
