Your perfect bathtub

Have you ever walked into a house, be it a friend’s or an open house somewhere, and wondered why the hell there was no bathtub in the bathroom? Yes, it happens, people just don’t have the room or don’t want a bathtub and instead opt for a shower. Oh!

What’s better after a long, hard day than a soak in a nice, deep, warm tub of water? Not much, according to many of us, which is why bathtubs come in so many shapes and sizes, making them perfect for any space.

Of course, the more space you have, the more options you have for that perfect bathtub. We’ve all seen the glossy magazine photos of a huge bathtub in the middle of a huge bathroom. While we may not all be freaking out, bathtubs can still make a statement.

Freestanding bathtubs can make that statement, but they will also need more plumbing than those that lean against a wall. Some come with those gorgeous claw feet that conjure up such romantic images, and some are beautifully crafted containers that offer a sleek, modern take on the bathtub design.

Then there are the bathtubs that you see in most homes, with the bathtub against the wall, usually with a bathtub edge of some kind that hides all the pipes and makes a statement of its own. Here the possibilities are endless, you can decorate everything with different tiles or frames and of course change the taps and you have changed the whole look of the bathroom. If, in the future, you get tired of tile or edging, just change that and give your room a whole new look, while keeping the bathtub in place.

Triangular tubs are designed to be used in small spaces as they save space in design. What they lack in size they make up for in depth and can usually seat more people than regular bathtubs. They typically sit against two walls with the plumbing hidden underneath and behind the wall, so no additional plumbing work is necessary.

Large or small, soaked or regular, one person or several, the bathtub is the masterpiece of the bathroom. Add a shower and you have a two-for-one instead, but ditch the tub entirely? No way!
